A Self-Draining Safety Shower includes a self-draining valve located directly above the water inlet so that water drains out of the pipes after it has been used. This means the standpipe only fills with water when the shower is activated and drains once again when the valve is closed. This prevents any stagnant water in the pipe from overheating in hot and sunny conditions and removes the risk of further injury, that would be caused by this hot water, for anyone using the shower.
